The NYULMC & KVC Midwest Trauma Training Center are offering a FREE training opportunity related to trauma and how trauma affects all people, especially children, throughout life. The workshop, “Creating Trauma Informed Systems in Child Welfare and Mental Health,” will take place from 8:30AM – 4:00PM on Tuesday, July 8 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Project 17 has been working with KVC Behavioral Health discussing how persistent poverty causes trauma, and its effect on everyone in the region ranging from businesses, to schools, to human service organizations, to the entire community. This professional training session will feature national experts who will explain how best to handle trauma encountered in the community.
Human resource directors, anyone working with children, and those from human service organizations, law enforcement, or people interested in breaking the cycle of generational poverty will leave this workshop with improved skills to better assist their employees and those they serve.
The workshop will offer extremely high quality training and we are very fortunate to have it available in the Southeast Kansas region at NO COST.
